Lusaka City Council (LCC) is the local authority responsible for governing and managing the City of Lusaka, Zambia's capital. The Council is mandated to provide essential municipal services, promote sustainable urban development, enforce local regulations, and improve the quality of life for residents. Its core functions include city planning, waste management, public health, road maintenance, licensing, environmental management, and the development of community infrastructure, while working closely with stakeholders to foster a clean, safe, and prosperous city.

Mandate

Mandate: LCC draws its mandate from the Local Government Act, 2 of 2019. It’s the local authority for Zambia’s capital and largest city, with an estimated population of 3.5 million.
